Alhumdulillah, ten things I’m currently enjoying…

1. Watching the leaves change colour from my balcony window. SubhanAllah.

2. The growing love between my daughters. The very best time is when I am a silent observer, catching spontaneous moments of tenderness between them, and my heart feels like it will burst.

3. Making plans for myself. Dreaming and working towards my own personal goals that I’ve put on the back burner. It’s taken me some time but I have finally come to realize how equally important it is to care for myself, as it is to care for my family.

4. Planning a family vacation 🙂 I feel like I’ve been pregnant or
nursing Alhumdulillah for quite some time with two babies back to back.
I’m so happy that our two little ones are more independent and we can go
on our first trip as a family of 5!

5. I just started reading, “Scream Free Parenting” as recommended by Aasiya, and so far so good!

6. Going through old blog posts and lessons plans and remembering all things I did with my eldest when she was a toddler, and recreating the same experiences for my middle child. It’s amazing how a little bit of effort on my part can have such a positive effect on my toddler’s happiness and temperament for the day, all she needs is a little bit of quality Mama-and-me time.

7. The awesome Muslim homeschooling community in my area that never
ceases to inspire and share. I look forward to our monthly meetings so
much so that my eldest is a little bit mystified about what we actually
do there haha. I assure her that she would be bored to tears, all we are
doing is talking!

8. Leaving love notes for my husband. I used to do this daily when we were newly married, but with time I did it less and less, until I completely stopped. He works so hard and does so much for our family, I want to show him my appreciation even in the smallest ways.

9. Snail mailing my family. This is something I am really trying to be better at, but my dear Grandmother sent me a few letters, and I want to get in the habit of continuing this lost form of communication. It does take longer to reach it’s destination than a quick email would, but it is so much more personal and thoughtful.

10. Watching my eldest become her own person. Though it pains me how fast she is growing, it’s also wonderful to take witness to the miracle of life. To watch how a little soul that grew in my belly, has grown, learn, and has experienced 8 years of life, coming into her own personality and becoming more responsible and aware, and even reminding me at times when I falter.
