My family and I recently went on a trip to visit my father. We rented a van and took the long 5 hour drive to Ottawa. Some of the things we did on our trip was visit the shops in their (mini) China town (my Dad’s favourite place to shop, naturally), visit the Royal Canadian Mint (where the girls got coin souvenirs and learned about how specialty collector coins are made in Canada), visit the National Gallery of Canada (where we saw the Monet exhibit), visit the Byward Market (full of handmade stalls!) and visit the Parliament. It wasn’t cold enough on our visit, but one day I really want to skate on the Rideau Canal, insha’Allah. It was the first time for my younger two daughters to visit their Grandpa in Ottawa, but I am hoping to make it an annual trip, God willing. There are so many amazing museums to visit there which is a perfect learning experience for homeschoolers.
