Patchwork Baby Quilt

Today the girls and I went to my husband’s cousin’s baby shower. I was in a bit of a scrabble to make her a baby gift, though I did have it in my mind for some time that I wanted to make her a baby quilt, of course I left it to the last day. But Alhumdulillah after raiding my scrap pile, and picking up a few new fabrics, I was able to put together a little baby quilt for her daughter to be insha’Allah.

I didn’t have a large enough piece of fabric for the back side of the quilt, so I added some patchwork squares along the edges to fill in the gaps, and I like the way it turned out. Also this was the first time that I made my own binding :). In the past I have always used pre-made bias tape. I have to say, now that I have made my own, I really do prefer it. I made mine 3 inches wide and it was a lot easier to work with. I hope insha’Allah the new baby enjoys her new quilt!
