Sewing Room Tour 2019

My sewing room has seen many iterations over the years and never stops evolving. That is why I shall title this post, Sewing Room Tour 2019! So be sure to come back next year, hehe! It’s actually a running joke with my friends and family, that I have a constant need to switch things up in my home. But it is not only limited to my home, you may or may not have noticed the blog template change every year or two. I really do attribute it to evolution though, I only really make big changes if it will be beneficial for where I currently am in life or business.

So without further ado, here it is! I’ve kept it really simple this year. For me the most important thing was having a huge long desk. It is actually two desks placed side by side. There are many things I do for my business which include, sewing, blogging, course creating, filming, planning, and more! So I have found this to be the perfect amount of table space to do all the things without having to pile things on top of each other.

Don’t let my sewing “room” tour fool you. It is actually not a room at all, but a corner of my open concept living/dining room. Just outside this photo is the couch, and dinner table! Sometimes I wish I could have my own office but it is also really nice to hang out with the kids all day and be available when they need me.

Starting from right to left, I have this chest of drawers which is actually filled with the kids homeschool papers, dvds and cds, and miscellaneous items. I really need to sort it all out one day! On top of it is my printer, and silhouette.

Then beside that to the left I have my little collection of wooden organizers. The two wooden boxes of drawers I picked up at the thrift store and gave them a little makeover by painting one, and adding washi tape to the other. The one the right is filled with sewing haberdashery that seriously needs organizing, I won’t be able to show you a peek inside at the moment! The one on the left is filled with large and small spools of thread. I also love the grey metal sewing box for storing extra sewing needles and marking tools. These organizers are also a great place to display my rock collection, my wooden stamp collection, and my Sewing Camp projects. I picked up the wooden mail organizer from Home Sense, and it is exactly what I needed for storing cutting and marking tools.

Moving on, I have my sewing machine, spool rack, cutting mat and quilting ruler, wooden organizer (you can never have too many wooden organizers apparently) and basket-o-embroidery floss. Believe me, I am not always this organized, so I had to document it all while it lasts!

Then further down the table I have all my tech stuff. My computer (don’t mind the finger prints!), a rack (from Home Sense) full of camera/filiming equipment, my serger (which hasn’t been turned on for years), and my microphone. I also have a cute little shelf from Home Sense to house my growing plant collection and souvenirs. Annnnd that’s a wrap! Perhaps if I get around to organizing the insides of some of those drawers I skipped over I will come back and add the photos to the tour. This really is my happy place, thanks so much for hanging around with me for the tour!

Are you a sewist or interested in learning to sew with your children? Just a reminder that the doors to my online Mom + Me Sewing Camp program close tomorrow July 4th at midnight!

Beautiful space, Eva! My daughter is always in awe when she sees your sewing space (she reports back to me, lol). It has inspired her to create more and keep her own seeing area clean! So thank you 😘

Aww that is so sweet! Kids are always very impressed about my huge desk and how it takes up a huge part of my living room, hehe.
