DIY Hajj Story Stones

With the Hajj season right around the corner, it is the perfect time to start teaching our little ones about all the important steps of Hajj. We made these simple Hajj themed story stones to add to our Montessori learning shelves and you can too! All you’ll need are some rocks, acrylic paint, a paint brush, and a sharpie. They’re great for teaching the steps of Hajj but also for story telling and imaginative play. You can keep adding new story telling rocks to your collection too if your kids feel there is something missing for their story telling, like perhaps a camel decorated for Eid, or a palm tree where the Hajji sits under for shade, the possibilities are endless!

Supplies:

  • Smooth Rocks
  • Acrylic Paint in a variety of colours
  • A Paint Brush
  • A Sharpie
  • A cup of water for washing brush between colours

I kept our paintings very simple and I’ve shown you how we painted the different rocks in our video which you can watch below. I hope that you enjoy this activity with your children, and if you make them I’d love to see! Be sure to tag me with #handmadebeginnings on Instagram.
